When a contributing member passess away, the Death Benefit provides financial support to the members nominated beneficiaries, if no nomination exists, the Lands Department will take it to the Lands Court in accordance with the TNPF Act.

1. WHO CAN RECEIVE THE DEATH BENEFIT?

The Death Benefit is paid to:

NOMINATED BENEFICIARIES

Persons nominated by the member in a Valid Nomination Form.

OR

BENEFICIARIES NOMINATED AFTER THE LANDS' COURT DECISION

Persons nominated by the Lands Court.

2. HOW MUCH IS PAID?

The Death Benefit is a lump-sum payment equal to the:

TOTAL ACCUMALATED SAVINGS

of the deceased member, including:

Member Contributions

Employer Contributions

Voluntary Contributions

Interests Earned

All Benefits are calculated in accordance with the Tuvalu National Provident Fund Act.

3. WHEN IS IT PAID?

The Death Benefit is payable after the Fund receives and approves a complete claim with all required documents.

4. HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM?

Inform TNPF

Notify TNPF as soon as possible about the members' passing.

Prepare Documents

Gather & submit all required documents

Submit the completed Death Benefit Application Form & documents to TNPF.

Assessment

TNPF will assess your application and may contact you if additional information is required.

Payment

Once approved, payment will be made to the eligible beneficiaries.

5. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Please provide the following documents:

Completed Death Benefit Application Form

Death Certificate

Copy of Deceased Member's ID Card

Valid Nomination Form

Proof of relationship (eg. Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate)

Bank Account Details of Beneficiary(ies)

TNPF may request additional documents if necessary.

6. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please ensure your Nomination Form is up-to-date to avoid delays.

Benefits are paid in accordance with the TNPF Act.

Any false or misleading information may result in delay or rejection of Application.

There is a fee of AUD$20.00 when applying for Death Benefit.
